About Saltburn Railtours

Saltburn Railtours is a railway organisation, based around the town of Saltburn, using the goodwill and time of a few dedicated organisers.

We are all rail enthusiasts, who enjoy rail travel in genral, and somehow stumbled upon the idea of Saltburn Railtours following a successful Saltburn Victorian excursion to Boulby Mine back in august 1995. Since then we have organised 8 other tours to different locations within the United Kingdom. These were a one day tour to Carlisle in 2000, a 4 day trip to Fort William in 2003, a day trip to Chester in 2004, a weekend trip to Fort William in 2005, a weekend trip to Inverness in 2006, a weekend trip to Canterbury in 2007, a weekend trip to Oban in 2008, a day trip to Grassington also in 2008, a weekend trip to Bath in 2009 and a weekend trip to Llandudno, Wales in 2010. Our last tour took place in July 2011 to Fort William, Scotland, and was our most successful trip to date, having been totally sold out 6 months before departure!

Our next trip will be the Saltburn Solent, travelling to the Isle of Wight, departing 29th June 2012 and returning 2nd July 2012.
